Clinical Efficacy and Safety Profile of Lurasidone Comparing with Risperidone: Randomized, Open Label, Clinical Study

There are diverse studies which afford evidences that risperidone is as effective second generation antipsychotics in treating positive symptoms and more treatment of negative symptoms. This study intended to find the clinical efficacy safety profile lurasidone comparing with risperidone, a drug common use nowadays. Patients aged between 18 60yrs, new onset who fulfil ICD-10 criteria for primary diagnosis schizophrenia having total PANSS score ≥80 including ≥4 (moderate) on two or subscale at baseline. acute exacerbation remained free least last 6 months also included. Demographic data patients were collected. Baseline investigations like BP, complete blood count, lipid profile, sugar, renal function test liver done. Severity baseline was assessed using scale (PANSS). randomized by computer generated random table 1:1 ratio group A B, 25 each group.
